Overview

The Lansmont 152-50 is a servo-hydraulic compression testing machine built to measure the compressive strength of individual shipping containers as well as larger pallets, unit loads and bulk containers. A specimen is held between two platens; the upper platen applies the load from above while the system logs force and deflection throughout, producing a load-versus-deflection curve and a failure load. Top-loading better represents how stacked goods are actually loaded in a warehouse.

At the heart of the machine is the Lansmont TouchTest Compression controller. Beyond standard compression runs it supports constant deflection rate, ramp-to-load-and-release, stacking simulation and user-defined load and deflection profiles that mimic real-world stacking. The standard platen measures 60 x 60 in. (152 x 152 cm), the maximum opening is 84 in. (213 cm) and the maximum force is 50,000 lbs (222 kN); optional extended platens and larger openings accommodate oversized items. The low-profile baseplate simplifies and de-risks loading large specimens, and the machine can be installed on any reinforced concrete floor, ground level recommended.

Optional features include a fixed or floating platen, a package test stand, a low-range load platform with a higher-resolution load cell, and an integrated temperature and humidity sensor that documents ambient conditions during the test. Typical uses are pallet stacking verification, large shipping container and intermediate bulk container strength testing, lightweighting studies and export or storage compliance work.
