Overview

The Luma-600 is Crystal Instruments' high-precision, single-point laser vibrometer, using laser Doppler technology to measure vibration non-contact with minimal signal distortion and ultra-low noise, ideal for delicate, precision or high-speed surfaces. It is designed for seamless integration with Crystal Instruments' Spider series dynamic measurement systems and EDM software, delivering strong synchronization: a time lag and phase match better than 1 degree across a 50 kHz frequency range for accurate dynamic measurement, vibration control and structural diagnostics.

Engineered for portability and ease of use, it is lightweight and compact for rapid deployment in field and laboratory environments, requiring minimal setup for pinpoint accuracy. Real-time data acquisition, low power consumption and high-resolution measurement ensure reliable performance in demanding conditions, while an integrated 7-inch touchscreen control box provides intuitive real-time visualization and operation.

The Luma-600 offers analog outputs through BNC interfaces for compatibility with modern data acquisition systems, and features such as low-pass filters, a reflective signal strength display and Ethernet connectivity improve precision and data transfer. It covers DC to 50 kHz and carries an IP54 rating for resistance to dust and moisture. With the Spider hardware platform it runs EDM Vibration Controller (VCS), Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA), EDM Modal, Remote Condition Monitoring and Time Data Acquisition software plus Post Analyzer, and supports EDM Cloud, a LabVIEW driver and a Python API.

In validation, random, sine and shock vibration control tests were run with both control and monitor accelerometers, with the laser beam aimed at the monitor accelerometer; the time-domain and spectral data from the accelerometer and laser vibrometer aligned closely, confirming the non-contact system's accuracy and efficiency.
