Crystal Instruments Spider-20 Dynamic Signal Analyzer & Data Recorder

The Spider-20 series comprises compact yet powerful data acquisition and dynamic measurement systems. Each unit provides four 24-bit high-fidelity input channels plus a software-selectable tachometer-input or signal-source output channel. Every input can be individually programmed for AC or DC voltage or for an IEPE (ICP) sensor with built-in electronics, and channels sample at up to 256 kHz. The Spider-20HE is the handheld variant, measuring just 5 5/16 x 4 5/16 x 1 5/16 inches and weighing 18 ounces, with three push-button controls and five LED status indicators; its replaceable internal rechargeable battery runs for six hours or more and can be swapped in the field. The buttonless, battery-less Spider-20i with an industrial-grade enclosure suits rugged or remote deployments where all operation and monitoring is done through software. Communication is over Ethernet to a Windows laptop or tablet running EDM software, which unlocks spectral analysis and frequency response functions, 1/nth-octave acoustic analysis, order tracking for rotating machinery, shock response spectra for drop testing and real-time digital filtering. Multiple Spider-20HE units can chain into a system of up to 256 input channels sampling simultaneously, with Crystal Instruments' PTP (Precision Time Protocol) technology holding phase match to better than 1 degree up to 20 kHz. Onboard 4 GB flash memory records raw time signals at up to 256 kHz by button press or automated schedule and periodically saves processed time and frequency data. A unique Black Box mode lets the unit run without a host PC, and remote timer on/off scheduling supports unattended long-term recording.
