Overview

The Test Partner 3 (TP3 Mini) is the mini shock data acquisition system in Lansmont's Test Partner line, purpose-built to capture transient drop, shock and impact events. It integrates data acquisition and signal conditioning into a compact 200 x 117 x 57 mm housing that is powered straight from a PC USB port, so no separate conditioning chassis or power supply is needed. That makes it well suited to testing that moves frequently between the lab and the field.

The hardware provides four acquisition channels with a 1 MHz total sampling rate and 16-bit resolution, and accepts voltage-mode accelerometers directly without additional signal conditioning. An external trigger is standard, supporting channel and threshold triggering, and pre- and post-acquisition filtering keeps transient signals stable even with complex shock waveforms. The unit is CE compliant, ships with an AC adapter (110-220 V, 50-60 Hz), and can also run entirely on USB power.

Two software packages are available. TP3 Lite lets packaging designers verify drop and shock performance with the simplest possible workflow, while TP3 ETC (Extended Transient Computations) adds deeper transient analysis for exploring the fine detail of captured events. Both offer multi-channel time-domain overlay, tri-axial resultant, Shock Response Spectra (SRS) against an ideal waveform with target and tolerance, force/deflection/energy calculations, rotational shock and FFT, with output to paper, PDF, Word or Publish to the Web.

Within Lansmont's shock ecosystem, the TP3 Mini is the portable entry-level acquisition front end, bridging the SAVER field recorders and the higher-channel-count Test Partner 4.
