The Test Partner 4 (TP4) is Lansmont's latest-generation shock data acquisition system, designed to capture and analyse dynamic events of all kinds. An embedded processing engine records substantial amounts of dynamic data, while an intuitive interface extracts key parameters such as peak acceleration, duration, velocity change and Grms, turning raw transient data into engineering results quickly.
The architecture offers both analog and bridge input channels. Analog channels support IEPE-type or voltage-based sensors for acceleration measurement or event detection; voltage-based event detection lets users define test constraints for electrical connections and determine when those design constraints are exceeded. Bridge/strain channels support quarter-, half- or full-bridge and DC-based sensors to measure acceleration, force, strain, pressure and voltage. Every channel can be configured for sample rates up to 2.5 MHz, enough for drop, shock, impact and even pyro-shock and blast events rich in high-frequency content.
On performance, valid data bandwidth reaches 200 kHz, and each channel uses a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC with a 20 MHz over-sampling rate for inherent anti-aliasing. A single standalone system supports up to 40 dynamic analog or 20 dynamic bridge/strain channels in an 8-40 channel chassis, and linking multiple chassis over Ethernet scales the system to 256 channels. An external I/O channel can trigger or arm the system at ±12 V, and a Gigabit Ethernet interface allows local PC connection or remote operation over a network. A "rapid fire" mode handles closely spaced, repeated shock events.
Software supports automatic or manual analysis of shock and vibration, with time history, SRS, PSD and FFT, plus event analysis of duration, min/max limits and Critical-to-Failure (CTF). In the Lansmont Test Partner line, TP4 is the high-channel-count, high-bandwidth flagship for complex tests needing fine high-frequency transients and multi-channel synchronisation.
