Overview

The HS15/50 is the small-specimen model in Lansmont's High Speed Shock series. At its heart is a suspended seismic reaction mass with an integrated impact surface, isolated from the floor so that shock energy is largely absorbed within the machine rather than transmitted into the surrounding building. The test item is mounted on a falling table and driven into a preset pulse programmer to generate repeatable shock pulses.

Performance is built for short, intense events: a maximum velocity change of 120 ft/sec (36.6 m/sec), peak acceleration up to 10,000 g, and pulse durations as short as 0.2 ms. It carries specimens up to 250 lbs (113 kg) with maximum dimensions around 30 x 40.6 cm, on a table measuring 15 x 50 cm. Every system ships with Lansmont's TouchTest Shock (TTS) controller for safe, intuitive operation, and optional programmers extend the waveform range to half-sine, trapezoidal, and terminal peak sawtooth pulses.

Within the HS family, the HS15/50 sits at the small-specimen end, complemented by the HSX series for heavier payloads and higher velocity change. Typical uses include electronic components, small modules, and sensors that must survive high-g, short-duration shock. An electric hoist lift system and air-pressure, oil-amplified brakes keep drop heights repeatable, and Test Partner data acquisition can be added for recording and analysis.
