Overview

The SAVER 3M30 is a self-powered transport environment recorder that travels with a shipment and captures the shock, vibration and drop events it experiences. An internal triaxial piezoelectric accelerometer records complete, full-waveform time histories on all three axes, triggered by a user-defined acceleration threshold, so engineers can see what happened to a product rather than just a peak value.

Sampling rates are selectable at 100, 200, 500, 1,000 and 2,500 samples per second; the acceleration range is 100 g full scale, and a three-pole low-pass anti-alias filter at 10, 20, 50, 100 or 250 Hz keeps the recorded signal clean. Recording is flexible: a threshold avoids meaningless zero-level storage, and the memory strategy can stop when full, overwrite oldest-first, or retain the largest waveforms. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery supports up to 30 days of continuous monitoring, and data is retained in non-volatile flash memory even if the battery is exhausted.

Data is downloaded over USB and analyzed in Lansmont SaverXware, which can convert recorded vibration into random PSD spectra for export to an Excel file or a Lansmont vibration controller, reproducing the real route spectrum in the laboratory to close the field-to-lab loop. The instrument is housed in a weather-resistant 6061-T6 anodized aluminium case measuring 79 x 74 x 33 mm, with four #6 mounting holes for fixing it to a container, pallet or product.
