EDM Multi-Shaker Control (MSC) provides one centralized interface for interacting with multiple controllers running separate vibration tests at the same time. A key distinction is that the multiple-shaker controllers are not time synchronized, unlike in MIMO VCS where all drives are time synchronized.
In terms of capacity, up to 12 simultaneous controllers can run in a single instance of EDM. The supported test types are Random, Sine on Random, Random on Random and Swept Sine. Test operation can target an individual vibration test controller or all controllers together, with the controllers neither synchronized nor correlated. The display is flexible: it can show an individual window with the status of each controller or a composite window of every controller, and users can choose to show both the control composite and the test status, or either one when running a high number of tests.
The software provides manual control commands for each test type. For Sine tests these are set level, level up, level down, restore level, reset average, next entry, set frequency, save signal and pause; for Random and for SOR/ROR tests they are set level, level up, level down, restore level, reset average, next entry, save signal and pause. Users can customize the individual command panel by showing or removing selected commands.
Key features include running different test types independently, a custom status display, a custom individual command panel, common commands shared across all tests, and a robust, tolerant design. Supported vibration test hardware includes the Spider-81/81B, Spider-80Xi (scaling to 512 channels), Spider-80X, Spider-80M and Spider-80SG. During testing, all measurement inputs and drive signals can be recorded continuously to a Spider-NAS or the internal storage of each front-end and reviewed with the Post Analyzer, and every test supports status checks through EDM Cloud. MSC is especially useful for production applications, increasing efficiency and simplifying the control process.
