The Lansmont Model HC18 is a High Cycle Shock Test System built for procedures that subject a single test item to a large number of consecutive impacts. Its defining advantage over conventional shock machines is cycle speed: an innovative high-speed lifting and positioning system lets the HC18 complete up to 50 shock impacts per minute, accumulating thousands of impacts in a short time and sharply cutting the duration of long-duration shock reliability runs.
The forged aluminum table has an 18 x 18 cm (7.08 x 7.08 in) top face and front face and generates high-fidelity shock pulses. Maximum acceleration reaches 5000 g with a maximum velocity change of 27.5 ft/sec (8.38 m/sec) and a maximum payload of 20 lbs (9 kg). A floating seismic base limits the shock energy transmitted to the floor, so the machine can run continuously for extended evaluations. Because thousands of impacts are produced in a short period, data acquisition and storage demand is high, and Lansmont pairs the HC18 with Test Partner 4 Data Acquisition Systems to collect and store every shock event.
Typical applications center on mechanical shock reliability of electronic components and small assemblies. Options include shock pulse programmers for 0.3-2 ms short-duration half-sine pulses (for example kits specific to JEDEC JESD22-B104C), customized table mounting patterns, and a JEDEC table option that fits six test boards simultaneously for batch component screening. When a larger table is needed for the same high-cycle work, the identically designed Model HC23 is the alternative.
