Overview

The Model 15 and Model 23 are compact, high-performance shock test systems from Lansmont, designed for small, lightweight electronic components and devices and serving the same purpose as systems used for JEDEC-compliant testing. A magnesium alloy table produces near-ideal half-sine shock pulses for precise, repeatable results, and mounting hole patterns on both the top and front faces allow specimens to be tested in two orientations at once for greater efficiency and flexibility.

Key figures include a maximum acceleration of 5000 g, a minimum pulse duration of 0.25 ms (half-sine), a velocity change of 24-32 ft/sec (7.3 to 9.7 m/sec), a maximum payload of 80 lbs (36 kg), and a 23 x 23 cm table. Half-sine is standard; optional programmers add trapezoidal and terminal peak sawtooth waveforms. The machine stands 96-120 in (244-305 cm) tall and requires nitrogen and plant air supply.

Each system includes the TouchTest Shock (TTS) tabletop console for intuitive, safe operation, working with Test Partner data acquisition for synchronized control and capture. Options include an Acceleration Kit for higher velocity change, a Low Impulse Kit to extend low-level testing, and a floating seismic base that limits shock energy into the floor. Typical applications center on mechanical shock evaluation of electronic components, MEMS, and sensors.
