The Lansmont Model HC23 belongs to the same High Cycle Shock Test System family as the HC18, targeting procedures that apply a large number of consecutive impacts to one test item. Its distinguishing feature is a larger table: 23 x 23 cm (9.06 x 9.06 in). Using the same high-speed lifting and positioning mechanism as the HC18, the HC23 completes up to 50 shock impacts per minute, so thousands of successive impacts accumulate in a short time for evaluating cumulative damage and reliability under repeated shock.
The forged aluminum table has a 23 x 23 cm top face and front face and produces high-fidelity shock pulses. Maximum acceleration is 5000 g, maximum velocity change is 27.5 ft/sec (8.38 m/sec), and maximum payload is 20 lbs (9 kg). A floating seismic base limits the shock energy transmitted to the floor, making the machine suitable for extended continuous operation. Because so many impacts occur in a short period, Lansmont recommends pairing the HC23 with Test Partner 4 Data Acquisition Systems to capture and store the data so every shock event is traceable.
Typical applications match the HC18: mechanical shock reliability evaluation of electronic components, small assemblies and PCB modules. The larger table, however, makes it easier to mount slightly larger items or parts needing multiple mounting points. Options include shock pulse programmers for 0.3-2 ms half-sine pulses (including kits for JEDEC JESD22-B104C), customized table mounting patterns, and a JEDEC table option that fits six test boards simultaneously. Where the test item is smaller and higher cycle efficiency is preferred, the HC18 is the alternative.
