The Lansmont P55 is a versatile high-performance shock test system with a 21.7 x 21.7 in (55 x 55 cm) table and a maximum payload of 300 lbs (136 kg). Within the Lansmont shock range it sits at the mid-to-large end: table area and payload fall between the P30/45 and the Model 95/115, making it suitable for medium to large products and packaged items. Maximum velocity change is configurable between 22 and 59 ft/sec (6.7 to 18 m/sec), among the widest in the line, while maximum acceleration is 1000 g, extendable above 5000 g with options such as Dual Mass Shock Amplifiers.
The table uses a forged aluminum design for high-acceleration shock pulses. The system includes the TouchTest Shock (TTS) tabletop control console, which makes shock testing safe and easy and communicates seamlessly with Test Partner Data Acquisition Systems for coordinated control and data collection. An Acceleration Kit increases velocity change performance; an electric hoist lifting and positioning system keeps drop height repeatable, and a floating seismic base limits shock energy transmitted to the floor. Optional shock pulse programmers cover a wide range of pulse shapes, including half-sine, trapezoidal and terminal peak sawtooth, in both short and long durations, to match different shock severities.
Typical test articles include medium to large electronics, appliances, industrial equipment and palletized packaged goods, evaluated for shock tolerance during transport, handling and use. Its role is a general-purpose large/medium-table solution: where the P30/45's 40 cm table is too small but the Model 95/115's 600 g ceiling is too low, the P55 offers a middle path with a wider velocity-change range and a 55 cm table. Options include low impulse kits, dual mass shock amplifiers, additional pulse programmers, customized mounting patterns and hold-down fixtures.
